Betsy Franco Feeney Joins Orangetown Daily Voice As Community Advisor

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Betsy Franco Feeney, a photographer and illustrator, is one of Daily Voice's community advisors for its Orangetown site.

Community advisors provide Daily Voice with tips for local news and events.

Betsy has travelled the world but her heart is firmly planted in Piermont, NY. As an active member of the Piermont Historical Society, the Journal news interviewed her for their series “About Your Neighborhood”. She was dubbed “one of Rockland's up-and-coming stars” in Rockland magazine.An accomplished photographer, Betsy’s work has been featured in Hook magazine.

Chronicling local events and stage productions, her work regularly appears in many media outlets. Her headshot and portrait photography has been highly praised by actors and professionals alike.As illustrator of numerous children's books, Betsy collaborated with celebrated singer/songwriter Christine Lavin for "Hole in the Bottom of the Sea" and "Amoeba Hop."

The latter title garnered a prestigious “Best Books” award by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Their art and music teach about the environment and renewable energy in memorable and entertaining ways. Betsy and Christine joined Peter Yarrow at Town Hall in NYC for a tribute to the United Federation of Teachers (UFT).

She also conducts school visits with pre-K through fifth grade students. Betsy’s murals can be seen around Rockland and in New York City including the recently completed "Going Green over the Rainbow" at Viola Elementary School in Suffern.
