Bunbury's Coffee Shop, 460 Piermont Ave., Piermont, (845) 398-9715

The Fine Grind: A quirky, little shop with a penchant for attracting bicyclists, Bunbury’s cultivates an devil-may-care atmosphere worthy of its namesake, Bunbury, the nonexistent friend of an aristocratic character in Oscar Wilde’s famous novel, “The Importance of Being Earnest.”

Folks come for its cozy corners and cheery yellow walls, but stay for its espresso which, according to Bunbury’s own blurb, has “a smooth, rich mellowness, not some namby-pamby sludge that tastes like burnt polyester.”

Most Popular Brew: Bunbury’s signature brew, reflecting the café’s unconventional ‘tude, is assertively called “Dog’s Bollix.” Its robust flavor, Bunbury’s says, “makes all other coffees totally irrelevant.” The café also sells more than 20 varieties of teas.
