BLAUVELT, N.Y. – As Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” album celebrated its 41st anniversary Thursday, Aug. 25, an historical marker at the site of the studio where it was recorded celebrated its first week on the street.

The marker was placed outside the former 914 Sound Recording Studios on Route 303 in Blauvelt last week, according to multiple news outlets, including lohud.com, which worked with the Rockland Historical Society to organize the ceremony during which the marker was unveiled.

While Springsteen is probably the most famous of those who recorded at the former studio that now stands as a car wash, there were many others whose voices echoed off its walls – including Janis Ian, a singer/songwriter who recorded her album “Between the Lines” and its number one single “At Seventeen” there.

The ceremony brought out many legendary local musicians, including former Springsteen drummer Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, Joe Delia and Joe D’Urso. Brooks Arthur, founder of 914 Studios, returned to New York from his California home to attend the event.

In related concert news, Springsteen, who has been taking his The River Tour across the world throughout 2016 , played the second of two nights this week at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. He is to return to the stadium on Aug. 30 after playing an Aug. 28 show at the United Center in Chicago.
