Kelly, of Rye, left the Fox News Channel earlier this month after 12 years with the broadcast news behemoth. Most recently, she had been anchoring her own primetime television show, “The Kelly File.”

To make room for Kelly’s new daytime show, NBC has decided to cancel the third hour of “Today,” according to pagesix.com, which reported that Kelly with either take over the 9 a.m. slot from Tamron Hall and Al Roker or will replace Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford at 10 a.m.

According to pagesix.com, Kotb and Lee Gifford will move to 9 a.m. if Kelly’s new program takes over the 10 a.m. time slot.

Hall is expected to leave NBC when her contract concludes next month, according to pagesix.com, which reported that Kelly will start in her new role in September.
