Grace VanderWaal Plans 'Elaborate Tree House' Near Suffern Home

She might not be old enough to own a home, but that isn't stopping Rockland's own "America's Got Talent" star Grace VanderWaal from building two luxury treehouses on her parent's property in the Village of Wesley Hills.

The 13-year-old, who won $1 million on the show, talked about having Treehouse Masters building her tree houses if she won the show, received permission from the village last week to build two "massive" treehouses in five trees, said Village Mayor Marshall Katz.

The larger treehouse is 10-feet-by-15-feet and the smaller treehouse is 10-feet-by-10-feet, both are wired for electricity.

Some of the special features of the luxury pads include spiral staircases, a working refrigerator, a toilet, and hopefully if Grace has her way, a zip line between the two houses so she and her sister can visit, according to etonline.com.

The little star had some back and forth with the village over concerns that her family's property bordered wetlands, but in the end, she was able to receive approval from the planning board on Wednesday.

Katz said the village planning board wanted to make sure the wetlands weren't disturbed.

"The village has bent over backward to smooth out the process and get them through their approval process," says Katz.

The houses will be built by Treehouse Masters of Animal Planet fame. No word yet if the building will be filmed to air on the show.
