Her music is rooted in blues, folk and jazz. She has been a “sideman”as a slide guitarist, oboist, and singer, with such artists as John Hall (Orleans), Nanci Griffith, Ashley Cleveland, Daryll Tookes and Joel Sonnier, and has jammed with artists  from Jackson Browne to Steve Earle to Gatemouth Brown.

She made her living for two decades as a full-time member of different symphony orchestras around the U.S.

In addition to hundreds of recordings, she has played oboe, slide guitar, or offered her voice on, her original recordings include "Strange Girl" (singer/songwriter), "Full of Wholes I and II" (singer/songwriter), a “live” album recorded at Bluebird Café in Nashville, and “How The Light Gets In," an all-improvised, all-instrumental CD featuring Osiel on the oboe and English horn in duets with four different New York keyboardists.
